CPAP Me

Comments

[this is good]
Hi, I started using CPAP almost two months ago. I don't know how I lived without it. In the morning when I wake up I feel as though my lungs, skin, and brain have been renewed. I did have them switch out the mask for a small one because the first just crushed my lip and air leaked out into my contact lenses. Do you have the machine with humidity? When I was in the hospital for another problem, I didn't bring my own machine and they tried to set me up with one that didn't have this option. I was on the verge of getting a head cold and that machine made me feel claustrophobic. The respiratory therapist from the firm that supplies my machine told me NOT to use the equipment while I had the cold. Just a suggestion, but you might want to contact your doctor or the company before you continue to use it, especially if you are susceptible to sinus infections and allergies.

Thanks for the info gleasonpond.

I do have crappy sinuses but I used it last night and today I seem fine. I don't think I had to work as hard last night to breathe. I think my problems are just getting used to the whole thing. I have a little mask ... couldn't stand the over the nose kind ... and the humidity dealie. My biggest problem seems to be that I can't keep my mouth shut. The irony here is that I also have that problem when I'm awake. That's a joke.
